About AV Enterprises, LLC
We all know
and have heard that 'necessity is the motherhood of all inventions.'
Agent Vegas Enterprise is an off shoot of
the Dick Juge Insurance Agency. He has been developing products
and tools, since his agency began in 1960 just to help his agency
run better.
In 1960 Dick began his insurance career
as an 'ordinary agent' (not debit) selling for John Hancock Mutual.
Their first school taught the
sales pitch, "You'll Earn A Fortune."
In those beginning days Dick worked 12
hour days, 7 days a week. Unlike most products, selling life
insurance is a creative activity that involves the sale of a very
intangible product. It was a very frustrating experience, not coming
from a 'sales' background. Stan Mathis was his first mentor. Lots
of AV is an tribute to his influences along with many other wonderful
folks just like him.
In 1962 Dick began his property and casualty
career with Liberty Mutual Insurance Companies. A second good
fellow at Liberty, Ed Steed, became his second insurance mentor.
Ed took his time to explain the homeowner package along with the
many other products that were new.
1964 was the beginning of Dick's multi-line
career with State Farm Insurance Companies. In this new phase,
as a self employeed contractor, Dick learned that 'selling insurance'
was one thing, but that servicing and managing a business was so
demanding. Long time State Farm agent, Joe Helwick, became Dick's
third mentor.
LUTC, CLU & CPCU industry courses became
another of Dick's mentors. It was in the pursuits of these
industry designations that 'the fog began to lift.' It was now easier
to understand the insurance industry, products, sales skills, servicing
clients, running a business and managing staff.
Since those beginning days Dick's daughter,
Jen Kottler (also self employed working with various organizations
such as the Tulane Business School and Alumni Assn.) now helps
by managing AViosk Enterprises distributions. Dick's son, Richard,
owns his own RE/MAX Commercial franchise locally and mirrors in
many ways his dad's activities. Both of his children now serve as
mentors being they are well plugged into the 21st Century. Note:
Jen handles the annual Tulane Business Forum and works with many
small groups managing their meetings. Richard also is a heavy user
of PCs, and desktop management software in his commercial real estate
business. Both interface with many other business folks nationally.
Dick is their hardware/software man.
Between the three they havea large and challenging number of experiences
including the use of PCs, staffing and other business experiences.
Dick's has served as President of several
civic and industry organizations, served on the FIPNC (FEMA - Flood
Insurance Producer's National Committee) plus served as past Educational/PC
Chair of the National Association of State Farm agents. As
a result of all of this activity, he well understands organizational
structures and what it takes to lead and motivate people into action.
Dick's computing skills are deep. Since
the early 80s he's dealt with TRS80s, DOS 8088 PCs, Windows 3.x
and now Windows 95/98 etc. Dick has done some programming,
manages his web pages, creates graphics shows, creates install routines
for both CDs and Floppies, has set up his own network and many other
computer related activities. Programs today are mostly programmed
by professional associates who contract do the work on a contract
basis.
As a young man Dick studied Architecture,
was an Electrician in the Coast Guard, later designed and contracted
both his home and offices. These
activities all go to shaping his desire to make products for you
as simple, efficient, quick and simple to operate as possible. He
hopes you will use and enjoy these products as much others.
Dick has recently retired from the insurance industry and is
now focusing on AViosk Enterprises, LLC products heavily. In
addition he is into traveling and doing whatever he wishes.
- - - A sample testimonial to Dick, AV Enterprises
on the Fantastic Flash Flood Rater - - -
"Dick,
Keep em comin.
Without your rater I don't think I would even
want to sell flood insurance.
I wish our company would understand that it
is possible to take something complicated and turn it into something
that is easy, just as you did.
I will be one of the first to order the new
disk."
"The right tools help you run your business better!"
